What a nice and warm day. It was at times like these that Aeron liked to wiggle out from his hidey spot and enjoy the warm sunlight. He had moved alot in the last few weeks, but that small town in the distance sure had some nice natural space around them to make his life cozy.
Well...at the very least way better than being stuck in a jar or a fish tank. He wasn't a normal slime thing. He certainly wasn't a pet. Yet he couldn't really tell people unless they touched him. Having no set shape was also a big problem. The little Aiga flopped down from the perch he had rested for the night to a lower branch. He had merged with a bird temporarily, but he would soon need to find another host to merge with if he didn't want to pass out and die. He would have loved to look around for something or someone intresting around the river below him, but there was some nagging that was disturbing the local ecosystem. It was like...a rumbling of stopms and bushes being pushed aside.
Just who or what kind of creature could be creating that much ruckus and noise?

While unlike a certain âoniâ iteration of herself from another world, Mia was still hardly a form that could take things quietly or act with grace. She was certainly a lot more feminine in her dragon-kin form, but leaned so far onto the tomboy end of the scale that she bordered on masculine all the same. Today sheâd been out hunting, the great unclaimed forest a great place for adventurers to make their living, and right now she was just lugging a hefty backpack full of supplies back to the nearest village, making a bee-line for the smoke pillar that signalled them to the adventurers who needed to make their way through this hellish little jungle.
âYa know ya think someone would have at least started paving roads in this place by now. Even under a treaty or some crap.â Wacking a branch out of her face before it could wack her first, Miaâs eyes were blindly following the smoke pillar above, blissfully unaware of the potential dangers underfoot. She tended to think she could be fine, tugging her feet through any vines she happened to run into, but what she hadnât expected was the moist sensation hitting her boot, so much momentum in her stride that she ended up dropping before she could stop herself.
âWhat th-FU-grrrble!!â What kind of River, lake, swamp, whatever this bullshit was had such a sheer drop off the edge?!? It must have cut its path hard through the local ground whatever it was because with Miaâs size, her inability to swim, and the weight of her backpack she sunk too deep too fast, scrambling to the surface as best as she could for a gasp of air and a half-cry for aid before she ended up dropping right back under, struggling to remove her backpack of supplies in the hope she might be able to get to the surface without it. Flickers of embers from her lips briefly existed and red scales fluxuated in patches replacing her skin as she strained herself to try and remove the hefty load while sinking deeper, and carried further from the edge by the riverâs flow.

Aeron's mind was yanked off of his own stuff when suddenly the ruckus ended in a loud splash. The little creature peeked over the branch only to se...someone spalshing around. They were probably a villager that had dropped in there on their way back home. Problem is, they were sinking...not swimming. They were going to drown!
He couldn't let someone drown like that no? But what could he do? If he tried to merge with them and they started struggling they would lose all the oxygen they had left quickly!
The little blob flopped off the branch and dived into the current, taking a moment to adjust his sight. Yeah, it was a lady and she was drowning. Little Aeron pushed deeper down, trying to get closer to the lady.
Fighting against the current, he managed to grow small pink tendrils and latch onto the lady's index finger. As soon as he felt their minds connected he spoke.
"D-don't panic! It's gonna be fine! Just don't struggle! It's going to be all right,I promise!"
Quickly wrapping around her entire arm, Aeron began merging his own cells with her own. He did not expect her to have dragonic blood, but it was certainly making things easier. In a matter of seconds, Aeron swarmed around Mia's entire body, quickly reaching his head.
"I know it will sound weird and feel weird,but please open your mouth!" The little Aigan pleaded. There was no time to waste.

The next thing Mia would know would be her laying down at the bottom of a...lake? River? The water wasnt moving as much. She was still alive but most importantly she was somehow breathing. Then there was a strange wriggly feeling engulfing her entire presence. It was like being hugged by an exteremly soft substance all over her entire body. Most strange of all, she could feel something wriggling inside her own body.
As soon as she looked down at herself, she would see it. Her entire body was covered in a pinkish substance, which had apparently drawn out all her dragonic features and then added some. Clawed hands and feet, long tail, ears and snout...everything was there. It could feel the thing squirm and squish around her form as Aeron shifted to match her physique.
On her arms and things there were a set of holes that where opening and closing rhythmically, perfectly synchronized with her breathing cycle. Apparently she was filtering oxigen through those? She was for sure unable to breathe with her mouth or nose.
"Ah, you're awake! I thought I lost you!" He heard a voice squeak right inside her head. "Stay calm, you're fine! You can't drown. My name is Aeron. I'm the pink thing covering you. I'm amphibian, so I can breathe no problem here. I'm merged with your lungs right now, it was the only way to keep you oxigenated."
One could tell the little young voice, which sounded kid like, was beyond nervous. "J-just don't touch the holes on our arms and legs. Nod if you understand."

With the hefty load finally off her back, Mia felt she might have a chance to breach the surface again and get a mouthful of air to help her pull through this, but as she finally looked up and spotted how dim the light was breaching the lake, she both questioned what fucking god was such an idiot to design a lake so deep, and was also rapidly realizing she didnât have much chance to breach the surface again. She was just about to try all the same, perhaps futily, when a voice entered her mind, making her whirl around on instinct with what little oxygen she had left to power her system, her vision already starting to haze over.
She needed toâŠnot panicâŠ? Yeah. What siren call didnât start with words like that? ButâŠwhat odds did she really have here? And it wasnât like every merefolk was bad, so whatever weird psychic shit had them getting into her head she wasnât about to fight their offer when she was already screwed. Whats the worst they could do. Double drown her? Gritting her teeth as her vision started to blur beyond any ability to recognize what was going on, by the time she was told to open her mouth she was already blacking out. Lucky honestly, as when her body relaxed in that state she naturally parted her lips, letting the tendrils get inside of her as they needed, unbeknownst to her.

Eyes blinking back into existence, she didnât get either the harsh light or the sting of unclean water she expected, slowly rising to a sitting position and groaning as she grasped her head, sensation slowly returning to her body. She jolted a little when enough sensation returned to allow her to get to her feet and realize this pink little monstrosity sheâd become. Oh hell no. Whatever this was she was just about getting ready to tear it off her skin regardless of what it was doing for her before the voice resonated in her head again.
Not exactly trained to deal with psychic communication, and assuming the creature talking to her in her head didnât have the ability to read her thoughts if it was asking her to nod, she slowly lowered her arms, recognizing the abnormal holes that had been pointed out to her, and motioning a sigh even if she couldnât breathe out to actually make the sound, slowly nodding her head and pointing to the edge of the river, trying to ask if she can climb out now.

Aeron could feel his acquaintance was rejecting the bond. Oh well, at the very least he had helped her survive.
"You don't...want to go get your stuff?" He asked. "Since, you know. As long as I'm with you, I'll make sure you keep breathing. We can go search for your bag thing around here."
The water was cold, but not unbereable. Feeling the little Aigan wriggling around her body was all in all a nice tradoff for staying alive. Whatever the creature was doing there, it was clear that his action was intentional. Perhaps he had saved her so that he could merge with her body? Nah. The creature was smart. She could feel him being uneasy as soon as he picked up her reluctant nature towards their hybrid form. Whatever the pink guy was, he was smart.
While he was indeed inside her lungs, it didn't seem like he had any control over her body at all. Actually, he was quite defenseless. She could probably rip him off her with ease, give her draconic strength. The fact that the fusion had also force a full transformation on her part only helped. It seemed that somehow or someway, the little creature was able to boost her abilities by quite a lot.
Now it was only a matter of what Mia chose. Listen to the little guy and try to find her bag or efforlessly walk out of the lake.

Mia grumbled a little through the water, feeling this thing talk inside her head with no idea of if she could talk back or not. She didnât have coherent words in her head so even if this thing could read her brain the best it would get were grumbling sounds of frustration at herself for drowning and this thing for being IN HER FUCKING LUNGS. She did not like something having a potential death grip on her vital fucking organs thank you very much.
Still, with the offer to get her stuff she looked along the river bed, the backpack had been hefty enough to plumet to the bottom and stay there with itâs dead weight but even then Mia wasnât too eager to keep herself stuck in this situation if she could avoid it. She briefly felt tempted to just start climbing out, but itâd also be stupid to leave behind such potential cash, and as such she began walking over to retrieve it. Mia herself had no idea if this thing was smart or what, all she knew was her skin was crawling with the wriggling sensation of having him all over her skin, and snatching her backpack up, she couldnât wait to climb out of this death trap.
She started scanning the walls, getting faintly annoyed by how well the river cut through this bit of the land. The walls seemed like a sheer face with no easy point to grab onto, and the higher she got the more the current would try and push her off. Adjusting the backpack, she looked to her hands, still able to turn her hands to claws through thisâŠslimeâŠthing, and turning her eyes to the wall, slamming her claws into the stone with her full strength, trying her hardest to latch on as she scaled the surface as a lizard should, one side at a time.

"Look. I know you don't like me." Aeron told her as she scaled the wall using her claws. "But I wouldn't be here if I wanted you dead. The only reason I'm inside your lungs is to make you breathe here."
Aeron really did not know what to do or say at that point. Was he supposed to just let her drown then? Leave her to die, dragged to the bottom of the lake where no one would be able to find her at all? Leave her there, forgotten?
"I just...can't live much without someone to help me. So really, it is not my intention to kill people. Hell, I hardly can do anything by myself. J-just get out of this lake and I'll free you up. Mind you, any question, ask em now. I can't speak. I can only communicate if you're touching me."

âYa think!?â Resounded in her head towards this invasive thing, unsure if she could even hear it but climbing the walls continually all the same. As they got closer to the top Mia tried to calm down, knowing this thing was the only reason she was alive here but still not happy about the fact it had a potential death grip on keeping her alive here. Heck, the fact it was saying it needed someone else to survive didnât set her at ease. Now she only felt like she had to let this thing cling to her, either out of guilt, or the fact it could take her down with it if it wanted to.
Claws reaching the edge and the air above the water, she made she she was nice and steady so the current didnât take her before pulling herself up the rest of the distance, rolling onto the grass and pulling off her backpack in one swift motion as she reached the surface, eyes a little hazy just from the unfiltered light finally hitting them, trying to take a breath of actual air but briefly gagging as she recalled the pink blob coating her lungs.
âUuugh.â Groaning as she could finally speak again, she just lay back on the grass, rubbing her face. âFine. Whatâs the catch here? Iâm not gonna be laying slime babies out of my lungs next week or anything am I? In factâŠâ She sat up and looked to her hands. âDo you have to do the whole full body thing to talk? This still ainât exactly comfortable for me.â

"No slime babies. Where the hell do you get that idea from?" Aeron quickly reassured. "Also, no I technically don't need to cover up your entire body."
As he said that, Mia's draconic snout simply unravelled to free up her head.
"Also, no catch at all. This is just what I am. You know. An Aigan? One of those little amphibian things people mostly drove to extinction by putting us into aquarium tanks? Yeah, we are sentient. Yeah, we talk like this and yeah, I am sorry about forcing your body into dragon mode. We strongly resonate with magic and boy do dragonkin folk like you have alot of magical potential."
Aeron didn't know much about the girl he had just saved, but he knew he wished to help her. As such, staring from her feet, the pink wriggly coat on her body began to melt and unravel, the substance simply condensing around Mia's chest as some sort of T-shirt, keeping her hands and neck covered for now.
"If there is any catch at all, it would be me letting you have all my abilities as a thank you for letting me merge with your body. Once again, I do not wish to harm you. I do not wish to kill you and I do not wish to force you into this situation. If you're all right now just find me a rabbit or something and I'll hop right off of you."

âI dunno, weird magic critters do weird shit. Think I mainly got the idea from a play thoughâŠ-â She scratched her exposed cheek, not having realized sheâd âwent dragonâ under the jelly coating until the slime pointed it out to her, and feeling her claws scratch against her scales as they started to fade and turn back into flesh. She still looked mostly human regardless under the slime, if a little lizard thanks to her dragon scales coming through. She narrowed her eyes at her hand were jelly still covered, a little annoyed the slime had forced that transformation she tended to reserve for fights.
âReally think I mainly got the idea from an outsiderâs play or somethingâŠâalienâ I think they called it. Something about things clinging to your face and their babies cominâ out your stomache. Was hardly pleasant and I think it was a lot better in their world than it was here. Hard to really pull that whole thing off with just shitty costumes and some light transformation magic.â
Shrugging casually she pushed the whole way up to her feet, feeling the slime seep through her jacket and form a shirt underneath clinging to her skin. She couldnât see the slime anymore sureâŠbut she knew it was there, and that wasnât the most pleasant though for her. Least it wasnât in her lungs anymore.
âLook as much as I appreciate this weird aid, I donât even know what you are. Iâm an Arduran. You know. Living in deserts? Youâd be a little short on water there, and not to mention, weâre hardly the type to waste water on aquariums, so I have no clue what you even are.â Reaching under her actual shirt to this slime coating around her torso, she tugged at it curiously for it to likely snap back into place, sighing and resting her hands on her hips, much calmer, but trying to balance her need to repay a debt with the fact she justâŠdidnât want this.
âAs far as aiding me goes, I donât want anyone thinking I didnât make a name for myself on my own, so thanks but no thanksâŠhonestly with the kinda people in Ardura I canât even suggest anyone who might help yaâŠâ She rested her hand against her now flesh forehead, thinking for a moment. Aeron could probably get the vibe there was SOMEONE she could think of, she was just holding it on the tip of her tongue. Mark, her brother, would likely jump at the chance to have a power boost for a while, Mia just wasnât all that eager to give it to himâŠ
(I cant tag for 2 hours ish, so do me a favour and keep an eye on your participateds so I don't die of boredome? k thx)

"Oh don't misunderstand. The dragon form we were in was mostly you. I hardly did anything. I don't boost power per se, I am simply a catalist. I just unlock 100% of someone's potential. I am a magical creature, but I can't make miracles and I cannot create power out of thin air."
Aeron decided to just let go of Mia's claws as well, just retreating to a skin tight tshirt form on her body. Once she tugged at him, he stretched but wouldn't rip off of her. "Ouch ouch ouch ouch!" she could hear him squirm around her as she kept him pinched, likly in pain.
"I don't like poking inside minnds, but I can tell there is someone you know that could help me. From the way you are, it's someone close to you ain't them?" He asked. "L-look. I'll die if you leave me alone. If there is something, anything I need to do to prove to you that I am not trying to do whatever your weird imagination tells you to do and I truly mean no harm just tell me. You will find no parasitic impregnation nor weird chest bursting slime babies. The only reason I got inside your lungs at all was so that I could give you oxigen."

God it felt so weird talking to a voice in her head. With how the creature had disappeared under her clothes, she was pretty sure if anyone stumbled on this theyâd just think she was insane.
Letting go quickly when it was clear that hurt, Mia raised her hands up. âSorry. Weird how you can stretch all over my body but THAT hurt.â She rolled her eyes, assuming sheâd get some explanation but boy magic could have some weird limits sometimes.
âLook I believe you on the no weird parasitic crap, I do, I just donât want your help. I like to know Iâm doing stuff on my own. Most Iâll take from a buddy is a buff spell and even then thatâs just cause it still weâre both doing our own thing.â
Taking a long, deep breath, she steadied herself and cleared her head. âLook IâŠI do potentially know SOMEONE who might be willing to take you for a bit. Arduraâs filled with independent people like meâŠbut theyâre my brother. Now seriously I donât think youâll hurt him butâŠI want him to succeed on his own rather than rely on something else, so if he agrees, itâs a temporary deal, regardless of what he says. Understood?â

"I can stretch and fit my host, but if you pull me like that it's like trying to peel you skin off." He quickly replied, still somewhat aching. Then, there was the explanation he was looking for. At least it was something.
"Yeah. I get it. I get it. You Dragon-kinfolks are as proud as the creature you share your blood with. In a way, I am the "buff spell" you speak of. But don't worry. I am not here to create problems at all. If you say your brother may help me out then I am really thankful you're offering me this chance."
It was true. She was really going to bring him to her brother, perhaps he could hop on the guy for a while and maybe not die in the forseeable future. "Oh, r-right. What's your name? A-also, I know you don't like it much but...could I cover your entire body for just a moment? I never merged myself to a someone like you, so there is one thing I would like to check before I start hopping on people. Think of it like that. The more of a host's body I cover, the better I feel. If you didn't guess it, I breathe from my skin. More surface area equals more oxygen. I'll just take a few big breath and I should be set for a good while."
The little thing was really trying his best to not be cause of discomfort for the girl. From his voice alone, Mia could tell the guy was very very young and not a fighter at all. The unsure, sheepish tone alos told her he was indeed speaking the truth. No lies there, just genuine concernes for his own life.

"Right, gotcha." Was all she really said to confirmed she understood the pain thing, rubbing her neck, feeling just a tad stiff from briefly falling unconscious on a lake bed.
At the comment about dragon-kin, Mia was quick to correct. "No, dude. I'm talking about Arduran's in general. My family is the only dragon-kin I know there. My mother is literally the dragon that gave us all dragon blood. The rest of the people I know are normal dudes and chicks from other races, Arduran's are just...very independant. There's nothing much else to that, so don't go thinking this is a dragon thing." She huffed a little, folding her arms and glaring down at him for thinking this was solely down to her blood. It was more her culture if anything.
"Name's Mia. My brother's name is Mark, should make it a bit easier to introduce him to you if you know that bit in advance." Picking up her supplies again she was about to get moving when the slime asked to cover her again. Rolling her head back, Mia let out a loud groan. "Fine. A few breaths then we're moving."

Once again her whole body was wrapped in light purple slime all over as the girl's body was swallowed whole. She felt the little Aigan cling to her skin and squeeze around her body as he restored their reptilian form.
"Aaaah..." Aeron sighed happily, finally able to enjoy their shared form a little. He began wriggling all over as he stretched themselves a little and better adapted to the draconic look they had. Once Mia began walking he would squeeze and shift once more, then begin to unravel and shrink back into t-shirt size.
"A-ah. Understood. Mark is his name?" He stated with clear interest in his voice. "Tell me more about him. How old is he? How is he in general?"
The little Aigan was somewhat excited at the prospect of merging with a willing host. And out of anything, he had a dragon mother! He already sounded like such a cool guy.
"T-thank you for letting me cover you again. I think I got the gist on how you Dragonkin's draconic energy works. It will surely help make my bond with Mark more comfortable." He added. "Hm. I wonder if I could actually draw out his wings. I could have done it with you too I guess, but you are kinda fighting against it. I take no offense. Perhaps if he's more willing to share his body with me we could become a really powerful hybrid."
