“Ack—” Dasha sputtered taking a step back. Her wings involuntarily opened giving her a little extra stability, so she didn’t fall straight backwards. A second later, Dash was taking a quick step forward. “I’m so sorry—” Bending down she’d extended a hand to help the woman up. “I was walking too quickly.”

As Marceline looked up at Dasha, she would see the faerie knight was dressed in standard Regnum military attire with all the tunic and armor exactly in place. Two swords rested on each hip. Her hair at the moment was cut short and rested at the back of her neck. It slid forward as she was leaned over extending her hand. An awkward half smile (which was vaguely supposed to be friendly and apologetic but came off much less than desired) had found its way onto her features. “Are you alright?” She’d help her up if allowed.

As the woman dismissed her liability, Dasha smiled a little more. True, she probably should have heard her coming, but perhaps that was as much a testament to Dasha’s movements as this woman’s attention. At least no one was too injured from it. Good, good.

The question, however, brought Dasha a bit more to attention than before. Her posture straightened a bit, and a nod was given more curtly. “Regnum Order 35, Dasha Laska, ma’am.” After that, however, she relaxed a little once more. “What’s your name?”

Marceline Labelle— Dasha blinked a couple of times before nodding her head. She actually vaguely registered the Labelle family as some either wealthy family or a noble one, but which it was wasn’t coming to mind immediately. “Nice to meet you…” came her brief response.

The assurance that she didn’t need to be so formal had Dasha breathing a little easier. Her stance slacked just a little, and a small nod was given back.

The offer however, had Dasha pausing a moment very briefly glancing up past Marceline to the rest of the patrol area she needed to make rounds in (which also just so happened to also be the direction of the vendor). Hm, well, she supposed perhaps….

Glancing back, Dasha offered a small smile. “I do have rounds to make through this area, but… if you wouldn’t mind walking and talking, I wouldn’t mind sipping a drink,” she answered. Plenty of people liked to show their appreciation, and Dasha didn’t mind soaking it up when she had the chance. Even if there was an incident in the area, she was certain she could react quickly enough to handle it.

Starting to walk with Marceline over that way, Dasha hummed thoughtfully. “The Labelle family… is a noble family, isn’t it?” she asked glancing sideways at Marceline again. “I think I’ve heard of it, though admittedly, I’m from Tescaula.” Quite a bit a ways away considering the difference in flowers.

A small half-laugh escaped from Dasha. This area was very peaceful. There were plenty of other areas of Regnum that needed more attention, but just as the capital was home to the royal family, it was home to the military. “Heh, you never know,” she answered. “But if it comes to that, I’ll defeat it.” Her lips too quirked up in a smirk of sorts. Prideful as it was, she did believe her skills were up to par for any threat.

Dasha ordered some coffee and a scone. As much as she could eat more, she neither wanted to impose or overeat to the point of excess in front of this person. As the items were prepared and handed to her, she made to sit down at a small picnic table. The warmth of coffee was nice.

At the question, however, Dasha paused almost looking thoughtful. “I finished basic training just a few years ago, and I was assigned a unit without much input on my end,” she answered truthfully. “But I can’t complain with the change in climate. It’s a lot easier to be out and about in an area that has at least a few seasons.” She snorted briefly shaking her head. Tescalua was beautiful all the same, but there was something about seeing more of the World that drew her. That and… she did deeply appreciate being away from the family for long periods of time. It kept fighting to a minimum as well as other things….

“Is this your home flower?” she asked going off that tangent. Blue eyes raised to flicker off into the distance where the trees started to stretch upwards.

Dasha nodded a bit along with Marceline’s words. There was a brief pause when she seemed to recognize the same things Dasha had, but rather than be suspicious of it, Dasha felt something more akin to kinship for it. “Yes, that is rather nice too sometimes,” she admitted back. “I love them, but they can get on my nerves, as most family can.” She smiled a bit more now.

Ah, more kinship just in different ways. Dasha could imagine the quiet indoor lifestyle she’d had to deal with growing up all too easily. Of course, she got out more than some might have given her father’s habits, but the image of a quiet refined indoor person still settled rather easily in her mind.

The question thereafter, however, earned a smile. “Tescaula is beautiful,” she admitted before taking a sip of her coffee. “It’s very cold, and the snow is high almost all year round, but if you’ve ever heard the phrase ‘winter wonderland’— yeah that’s it. There are a lot of forested areas too and plenty of mountains to climb. My father fights bears out there when he’s not at home.” She snickered a little to herself. “You’d think it was a harsh place for fae, but we get along in any environment.” Or at least it seemed like it.

Dasha chuckled a little softly to herself. Ok, so yes, she was right to believe they shared quite a bit of similarity, if maybe in different ways. “Yeah, definitely…” she agreed. As romantic as it sounded to disappear into the abyss of snow and ice forever, she didn’t want to hurt her family too much— or at least some of it too much.

“Oh my gods I know right?” Dasha grinned toothily. “The fashion that comes out of a place that has to clothe you but do it beautifully is just amazing… I have this dress in my closet that has actual ice crystals on it held together by magic. There’s some heels I have that are made of ice glass too.” A pause. “But of course the fashion in all the flowers is so unique and nice in its own way.” Dasha very much liked that about traveling to them.

Dasha’s eyes might as well have been stars as she described the outfits she was privy to. As much as she liked the functionality of military ware, she could not deny an affection for beautifully elegant things. Perhaps one of the few reasons she kept in contact with her mother was for the access to funds to buy such things (and because a certain someone wouldn’t let her just stop altogether, sigh).

“Oh yes! There are plenty of magics just for fashion shows and exquisite events,” she nodded along. “Have you seen the new Merlinia line? So much tasteful magic put into circulation.” The thought of how much those shoes hurt, however, earned a shake of head. “Not any worse than regular heels.” She chuckled a bit considering that. “The price to pay for beauty, and all.” Perhaps Dasha had more of a tolerance than she wanted to admit to as well.

The comparison to an animated princess earned a sudden sharp laugh. “Unfortunately not,” she answered taking a slower sip of coffee right after. “Though we do have a ruling princess in Tescaula…maybe she’s a bit closer.” Or maybe not. “I wouldn’t mind having an ice castle, though.” Just one… pretty far away from the Laska home. “I don’t have much ice magic right now.” She probably shouldn’t have admitted that, but it was so easy to talk to Marceline for whatever reason. “I spent more time trying to push myself to be physically stronger.” A pause. “Do you practice magic?”
