Passing by Mark's room, Mia could hear muffled moans and squiggling, which indicated that his brother was currently undergoing fusion with his new Aigan partner Aeron. The little blob seemed to be ultra considerate of Yumi's distatste for him. As such, he tried to somewhat minimize his time with Mark to only the strictly necessary for his survival. That proved to be quite hard, as the young dragon kin wanted them to stay tegether for days on end.
Exiting the door in his cool purple Aeron-outfit, Mark grinned at his sister. He was already feeling so much stronger. Sure, he had been training a bit on his own...but becoming one with the little pink slime...it was simply something that never got old. He truly enjoyed Aeron's company.
"We're ready and stronger than ever!" He stated, twirling on the spot to allow his sis a good look at his form. "Right then, let's go big sis! We have a festival to attend to, we can't be late now, can we?"
Mia had just finished with her shower, still drying her hair after having gotten dressed, but the odd squirgling sounds made her spine shudder. Like...okay she was getting used to the two of them by now but stuff like those sounds was just a reminder of the situation. When Aeron was acting as clothes she could put it out of her mind but...
Her hand turned to scales as she rubbed her eyes a little roughly, not even realizing Mark had came out till he spoke, looking her brother up and down and resting her hands back in the pockets of her jacket, narrowing her eyes and tipping her head to the side.
"Er...remind me?" She'd honestly forgotten what exactly they were doing tonight. A host shower could do that to her head.
Mark offered her his hand. He knew she didn't like Aeron much so perhaps she wouldn't want to hold his hand. His eyes had turned bright green, signaling the completion of his fusion with the Aigan. They were one of the same now. Aeron's cells were Mark's cells and vice versa.
They still didn't merge their minds together, despite Mark wishing to, only to keep Mia somewhat tame. "Why, the whole treasure hunt thing? You told me we should go to the festival for it and try it out. Especially now that I bonded with Aeron for a good while."
Hopefully by now Mia would have grabbed her brother's hand to hear Aeron's speech. "Just don't get too gun ho with our powers. If we burn out at the start we won't even be able to finish. Let alone win."
Mark grinned. "Ah come on Aeron. Be more positive. We trained alot this week and we have also deepened our bond. That should be more than enough to get this simple contest out of the way."
"Me being merged to your heart isn't magically make you run a Marathon."
"True...but it does make me able to keep our dragon form for much longer. Not counting the fire...."
Mia pulled her hand back, shooting Mark a look that he should recognize by now. She did not want that thing in her head. Fine, it was the only way she could talk to it, but in the end did she even want to talk to it? Not only that but it had proved during their first meeting it could read her damn brain so she wasn't exactly too eager to give it any sort of access, resting her hands in her pockets and letting out a puff of a sigh through her noise before ruffling her hair.
"Right, yeah. That." She rolled her shoulders back with a long breath, starting to make her way downstairs, waving to her older sister and their dad as the two of them seemed to be watching the news. Mia grabbed her stylish trench coat and tugged it up over her shoulders. She was only hearing half the conversation with her brother here, but it hardly mattered too much. "Just behave you two. Show off too much and...well. If you of all people make a splash people are gonna ask questions."
"...he said he'll keep an eye out for me." Mark replied, not needing any more clothes than his partner. Once outside the door, Aeron tightened further onto Mark's body, causing the boy's muscles to buff up slightly due to the stronger fusion. He followed the signs leading to the treasure hunt trailing slightly behind Mia.
"I'm sorry. She's stubborn like that." She could hear him say. "You know how it is. She just hates you because of her pride."
Mark placed a hand on his chest, probably feeling the Aigan squiggling inside his body. "Nah. You ain't evil. She wouldn't be here if it weren't for you. I think she's just salty you saved her." He joked, throwing out a good chuckle.
"Stop worrying about her. No matter how hard you try you aint changing her mind so you just focus on me. I like you. I want to to be part of me. It's just sad you can't communicate that well so that's why people might be scared of ya. Hm...like...you're inside my lungs, around my heart and all that can't you like...merge our minds together? You know. So that we can both speak?"
Mia got walking, it was a bit of a trek from their home to the main city afterally but once they got inside the borders the signs were obvious enough. What she didn't like was the snippets of conversation she was hearing, her shoulders dropping as she tried to contain her frustration, but a few words too many manging to get under her skin as she turned sharply on her heels.
"Okay brother. Facts of the situation. He saved me, and as such, he gets to latch onto you for a month. Not salty, deal is done. Secondly, pride or not, right or wrong in your shitty little assumption, I'd appreciate you learn to talk in your head." She prodded his forehead hard enough to knock him off balance a little. "Or stop talking about me literally behind my back. Thirdly, fine. You want him in your brain, you go right ahead, but you got half a month left before I rip him off of ya and throw him on the nearest insect big enough to host him, so, it's up to you both how painful you want it to be when i start to tear him off."
She gave an overly bright smile despite the frustration still in her eyes. "All the facts cleared up for ya champ?"
Mark rolled his eyes."See? So salty." He told his pal, before addressing his sister. "If you try to rip him off me you kill us both and you know that. He is here to stay. Dad likes him, Mom likes him and Big Sis is fine with him too. He's not doing you anyhting wrong so stop trying to antagonize us and-"
He stopped mid sentence, probably interrupted by Aeron himself. "Right. Right. No use in bickering. Let's just focus on the treasure hunt."
Mark walked past his sister to go grab the first clue and sign up for the grand prize. In the brief moment his gloved hand brushed on Mia, the Aigan got a moment to sent her a quick message.
"Oh, ehr. He's also livid cause you keep rejecting him when he is with me. Just saying."
Mia narrowed her eyes. She'd literally just said she didn't like how she was talking to him about her so openly like this and was ready to punch them in the nose. "I'm sure I can find some sorceress or wizard who'd be more than happy to take you two apart safely and stuff him in a jar." She then prodded him between the eyes before turning about to keep moving. "And as a matter of fact, Mother's worried about you, but you know her. She'd never show it to your face." Plus, sometimes it could just be hard to read the expressions of their mother when she was in her dragon form and not her human form.
"No use in bickering is right."
Shifting to the side as Mark walked past her, she felt Aeron invade her mind and waved a hand beside her head to try and get him out, as if it would do anything, scowling at the back of Mark's head. "Well I'm livid he accepts you" She muttered under her breath, catching up. "So, what's the clue?"
"Hm...Do you have any ideas Aeron?" Mark asked out loud, just to be nice and make his loud and annoying sister part of the conversation. "To me this just looks like random jibberish."
The purple dragonkin was holding up a scroll full of...ancient dragonic apparently. At least that was what Aeron was suggesting it was. "R-right, uuh. Perhaps I should be able to read this right yes? They wouldn't just put this stuff here if only a select few can read it. Say, I can't feel anything from it, so it's not an enchanted scroll right? Yeah, thought so. Man, I am getting good with this Aigan sense thing we have."
He turned around, exposing the scroll to his sister.
