I - BASIC RULES- RESPECT OTHERS - Treat everyone on the forum with respect. We will not tolerate any form of discrimination against any race, religion, gender, orinetation, etc. This includes microaggressions and the like. For instance, things like "I don't see why that character needed to be trans" or "but why is there no Straight Pride?" will be considered disrespectful. Be aware of any privileges you may have and be mindful of the feelings of others. And remember that even if you as a minority don't have a problem with a "joke", it doesn't mean no one else would find it hurtful. If you have any problems with other members, please bring it to staff.
- RESPECT STAFF - Staff work hard to bring you all a fun experience, so please be respectful of their decisions and accommodating if Staff ask something of you. If we say, "Hey, [member] doesn't like it when you [x]. Can you try to avoid that?" you are free to calmly explain yourself, but chances are we've already considered the situation carefully, so please do your best to comply rather than continuously argue. If you disagree with a site direction, feel free to bring it up and know we will listen for the future, but don't expect immediate reversal of past decisions.
- AVOID DRAMA - Keep IC and OOC separate, unless you can mutually agree to take out frustrations through IC as a healthy form of venting, of course. Short of that, don't let OOC disagreements bleed into IC, and don't hold OOC grudges over IC events.
- KEEP IT PG-13 - Proboards TOS prohibits explicitly mature content. Innuendo and dirty jokes are fine, a little blood is fine, etc, but avoid explicit content, gore, and the like.
- NO ADS OUTSIDE THE AD BOARD - This includes talking excessively about other boards in the Discord, etc.

II - ROLEPLAY RULES- NO GODMOD / POWERPLAY / METAGAMING - Do not control someone else's character. Do not treat your own character as invincible. Do not use knowledge that you have OOC to your character's advantage if that knowledge would not be available to the character. Do not assume an attack or other actions connects with its intended target unless you know the other writer is okay with it. Do not give your characters such spot-on "intuition" that they always know the intent of other characters, such as always seeing through efforts to trick them or always recognizing a villain as such. Do not act excessively within a post to a point of assuming long-standing inaction from an RP partner without their consent, as this can also control a character and force them to act (or rather not-act) against their nature; give others the chance to react, or talk to your RP partner to make sure a post idea is okay.
- WORD COUNT - In most posts, there is no minimum word count. However, we do ask you be sure to give your partner enough to work with, and reserve the right to impose a minimum WC per specific person if a writer consistently gives replies that others find too hard to respond to. If you worry your posts are too short, even 100 words should generally be fine, and even less can be okay as long as it's not the norm. We're very lenient here. In Quests, there will be varying WCs required, so be mindful of those.
- CHARACTER ACCOUNTS - Please register a new account for each character. Unless you are staff, you do not need an OOC account. You may register your account as anything (for instance, your OOC name, a character nickname, or something silly), but please change your display name to your character's first and last name.
- CHARACTER LIMITS - You may start with up to two characters upon joining. Afterward, you must wait either 1 month since creating your previous character to create a new one, OR have at least 10 posts on all your other characters since creating your previous character, whichever comes first. This is to help ensure you don't get overloaded.
- ACTIVITY - We ask for a bare minimum of three posts per character per month in order to be considered active. However, each month you may get a pass on 1 character so long as you haven't used a pass on that character for at least two months prior. Additionally, if you only have one character, you are always exempt from activity checks; we simply ask you do your best.
- COMBAT - Combat here is freeform with stats representing guidelines rather than strict calculation. Please do your best to keep things fair and fun for everyone, and calmly approach a staff member if you need help deciding the outcome of a battle. Overly competitive players who pressure others, consistently pick on weaker characters for the sake of winning, or the like will be warned, and failure to shape up may potentially result in a ban.
- SOLO THREADS - Solo threads are allowed. However, all posts except the last one must be at least 500 words. The last (or only) post must be at least 100 words. If your thread is only one short post for character building, that's fine, though we reserve the right to impose more limits if anyone does this often enough to abuse. In order to split up a longer thread across multiple posts, the minimum WC must be reached. These limits are simply to prevent spam farming of money.
- SELF INTERACTION - Interaction between your own characters is very allowed. However, when using multiple accounts, you will need to either follow the solo rules above or have someone else interacting with them as well. If you choose to play multiple characters from one account for a time, that is fine and there are no particular restrictions.
- LONG POSTS - While not required, when writing very long posts in non-solo threads, players are also allowed to stop after 500 words and start a new post, so long as the new post will be at least 100 more. If the next post reaches 500 it can be split again, etc. This allows slightly more money to be earned to offset how much longer long posts take to write, similar to multiple shorter posts.
- INVASIONS AND KILLING - Both of these things are prohibited without explicit player consent. If you want to join a thread, ask. Only a player can decide when their character dies, although mods may force them to pass out if fighting well beyond their limit. Do not take advantage of this rule, please.
- LIQUID TIME - The site runs on liquid time, meaning you can have multiple threads at once and are simply encouraged to keep a vague idea of which comes first. Backdated threads are also allowed, but threads should not be set more than two weeks into the future.
