While Caeluma had always been the home of his last master, Salem's old friend who set them freee had requested their gravestone be placed in reliquear. Apparently something about the rumors and legends that flittered around the land made it seem like a poetic place for them to be buried, and while the Genie didn't really understand the purpose, they were more than happy to make the efforts to oblige. It also kept his own visits to a minimum as they only tended to visit when Caeluma was in town. And even then some days they just...weren't in the mood. Not to be rude to the person who was arguably the only person they knew for the longest time, but...some days ya just don't wanna visit a grave
Today wasn't that though, and with a vaguely cloudy sky that looked like it could set off anything from a drizzle to a downpour soon depending on how the weather went, Salem was standing infront of the grave of their old master, the man who set them free. There was...something in standing here. Some sense of peace and relaxation. He'd still been so bewildered by the concept of being free for years he never truly considered the master his friend despite their actions, but all the same there was a connection there he missed, and in seeing them again, a tension was both relieved, and refreshed, in a way he couldn't quite place.
Turning about, he backed up into the grave, hoisting himself atop it not realizing to others it may be seen as disrespectful. Not too worried about his thicker clothing getting too dirty, his hair tucked back into his hood probably making him just look like some disrespectful hooligan from a distance, especially with a 'binding' bra suppressing the natural curves of the genie further than the baggy clothes already did. With a long sigh, they slowly tipped back, falling into the soft, moist grass and just...closing their eyes to focus on the odd chirp of a bird or growl of some mammal in the distance, their legs still in the air, resting against the back of the gravestone as they had a moment of quiet, feeling the start of a tender drizzle against their exposed face.

Since learning what this particular area of Reliquaer meant to Klaus, Orion found himself coming there more and more on his off days. Whether it was to feel closer to his alpha or maybe to better understand those who came before this pack, Orion didnât even know truly himself. Did it really matter, though? No, Iâm here now. That was all that really mattered.
At the corner edge of this particular graveyard, Orion stood with a small wash pale filled with items for cleaning the graves, his eyes searching out the particular names that had resonated so deeply with him since then. I should have made a map⊠Not that he knew last time just why Klaus had sent him there. Still. He could have drawn something or taken a picture with his phone or something. A thought for this time⊠Slowly starting to walk through the area, Orion hummed low in his throat. Name after name meant nothing to him specifically. Yellow eyes continued to flicker from one area to the nextâ
Finally, he found the start of them, Fenrir, the name or perhaps moniker of Klausâs alpha before him. Bending down, Orion started to wash it mumbling softly more to himself than anyone around him. Once he had finished with that one, he rose and started to the next one. He did this for maybe three graves before the drizzle drew his attention upwards. A howl threatened in his throat. Orion suppressed it for a few seconds before finally giving in. âAwooâŠâ quieter than he could have given, but still something, a call to the spirits of the pack, perhaps.
It was while his head was directed in this direction, however, that Orion saw something⊠strange⊠Were those⊠feet? Legs? Hanging over one of the graves? Slowly walking over to it, he found that there was a person attached. Leaning over the grave, he tilted his head slowly to one side. âPretty sure thatâs sacrilegiousâŠâ he commented.

Eyes focusing suddenly at the soft howl in the distance, while pretty sure he could feed it a clone if push came to shove Salem wasn't too eager to get into a fight with a wolf. Who the hell let wolves so close to a place of mourning anyway? Whatever the case he was lenaing up on his elbows, legs still propped up against the grave but casually crossing over one another now. The light drizzle in his hair making it sog a little over his eyes, blinding him just briefly when the face came over the grave of his master.
Brushing some hair to one side so an eye could get through, he narrowed his gaze for a moment, wondering what he was talking about before spotting his own legs against the grave. He'd almost forgotten where he was he was so zoned out for a bit there. "Eh. I paid for the thing. I doubt he'd mind..." He then layed back down again with a sloppy plop into the moist grass, hands resting behind his head. His voice was...off a tone. He wasn't TRYING to sound masculine by any means, but just by the shift in his mentality of himself his voice didn't come out like one might expect from his face, even so hidden. It was like listening to a kid's toy just as the battery was starting to die. Still passable, but not QUITE right. "He was a pretty chill dude anyway...sure he'll be fine. I mean, you're the one standing on the side he was buried..."

Orionâs lips parted and then immediately sealed. Oh⊠This was just as much mourning as whatever normal people did, he guessed, just a little ⊠a little different. It still made him frown a bit watching the person lay back anyways. EhâŠ. Itâs none of my business⊠Orion shifted from one foot to the other ready to turn and head back to what he had been doing only to freeze briefly at the mention of where he was standing.
Almost immediately, he was taking a couple fast steps sideways to stand in between this and the next grave. âMan itâs so hard to tell which goes whereâŠâ he mumbled reaching up to scratch the side of his head. His ears shifted flicking up in a wolfy form again conveying more of his expression than his face really did. âSomeone should have organized this whole area betterâŠâ

Salem couldn't help but let out a tired scoff and chuckle at the mention of forgetting which side of the rgave was which, the red head shifting their arms a little more comfortably behind their head and letting out a long breath. "Yeeeah...honestly I don't get graves in general but...easy for me to brush it off in a lot of ways." With a long yawn they shifted their arms to cross over their chest now, eyes lazily drifting to Orion again and noticing the ears, lifting their own chin up at the potential realization. "Oh, you howl before?" He paused for a moment, considering it before smirking. "Nice sound...kinda relaxing when it's quiet like that."

Orion shifted a little, standing at an angle to the person still laying in the grass. A few strands of loose, wet green hair, would be pushed from his eyes very briefly as well. Reaching up, he rubbed over his own ears a little at the mention of them. âYeah,â he answered snorting back. âIt sort of just⊠comes out. A lot of the graves here are from old pack members, apparently.â His tone was just a bit distant as he said such things. Their strand of lycanthropy lived a long time and aged so very slowly. He had never met those who were buried here. He could only vaguely imagine what they were like from what Klaus had said. âNameâs Orion⊠by the way.â He figured since they were already talking, might as well.

Rolling onto his front and pushing himself up to his feet with a light hop to the motion, the genie rolled his shoulders back before turning about to focus on Orion with a lazy...well not quite a smile but it was a more positive than negative expression to say the least. "Name's Salem. Or Sarah. Depending on the day. Definitely Salem today though." His hands rested in his hoodie pockets, but quickly deciding it'd be rude not to, he lazily offered his hand across for a shake. "So...old pack members? Sticking to the stereotypes I see..."

From the corner of his eye, Orion watched the person pull themselves to standing. A small smile curled on his features back. Salem or Sarah⊠Salem today, though. A shapeshifter? Or someone along those lines, either way. He looked at the hand as it was presented and then slowly reciprocated the gesture. It was very human, very old fashioned, but it was something he was used to.
A small snort escaped from Orion as the mention of stereotypes came about. âI mean⊠â Well, even Orion himself had brought in certain stereotypes when had come into the world and was bitten, but he had lived this life for so long that it didnât even really matter to him now. âI guess I could call âem a coven if I wanted to offend the vampires.â He flashed a small, dry, cheesy expression before rolling his shoulders again. âOr a gang, or a famiglia, or any number of other things if I wanted to be more human.â A puff of air escaped from Orion at that. For as human as he had been for years prior to being turned, such things felt so distant to him now, as if that piece of himself no longer existed or mattered (or both).
A yellow eye flickered to the gravestone that Salem had been resting around. âAn old friend, lover, family member?â he asked vaguely thereafter.

Taking the firm handshake, the corner of his lips perked up, still not quite a smile but something a little more acknowledging before returning his hand into his pocket, rolling his head back a little as his red eyes lazily washed over the person before them. A genuine smirk came as he seemed to kind of admit it was a bit of a stereotype by joking about the vampires own, and even earning a single sighing chuckle at the tease. "I suppose I'm hardly one to talk about stereotypes anyway...so ya'll good."
Rubbing the back of his neck as the attention was brought back to the grave, Salem thought on how best to say it but just ended up coming out with it pretty bluntly in his current state. "My old master...I'm one of those whole '3 wishies.' Genie. Djinn. What have you." Eyes glanced back to the grave as he scratched his cheek idly. "This was the master that set me free."

A master? Orionâs gaze flickered over the grave again as he listened to the explanation of what Salem was. Ah⊠His wolfy ears twitched a little before setting down on his head for a moment. For all his time spent in this world, Orion found it hard to believe that wish granting was⊠a real thing in one form or another. Everything in this place seemed to come with some price tag or otherwise. He guessed the limit of âthreeâ was kind of like one but ehhhâŠ
âKinda bitter sweet, Iâd imagine?â he ask-assessed. âGetting to be free but then being left alone.â Orion blinked a couple of times realizing he may have spilled more of himself than actually given any kind of assessment. âOr I guess maybe notâŠâ He quickly followed up with a shoulder shrug.

The self spill was missed by Salem, believing Orion was just referring to himself, shrugging a little as he rested his rear against the grave again and let out a long breath as he tipped his head back. "Maybe...I dunno. After so long being bored and angry and just...tuned out to the small fractions of the world you got to experience, thousands of years apart...sometimes I just tune out again and its hard for me to grasp if this is good or bad..."
he let out another long sigh and got more comfortable on the grave stone he was leaning against. "What I do know is I feel an odd sense of peace here...I believe people call it...melancholy...?"

Orionâs eyes lidded a bit as Salem took his words at face value. Thousands of years⊠Orion couldnât imagine it. He knew some creatures here lived for eons, but even in his current state, he still held years like humans did. The fact that his body didnât change was a source of grief for him. He couldnâtâŠ. imagine what it was like to be unchanging for eons. Tuned out.
âHuhâŠâ Orion murmured a bit to himself. âI get that⊠I guess.â About as much as anyone else in his position could, probably. âThis entire area feels so timeless and expansive⊠Thereâs not a place like it back where I was originally from.â Japan always felt so alive. Italy always felt so alive. Sure, he hadnât experienced his entire world while there, but of the places he had been, there was none that felt quite like this. âHah, Iâm an outsider by the way.â As if that wasnât already obvious enough with his previous statement.

Salem gave a somewhat lax smile as Orion briefly seemed to, at least to some extent, be in awe of how quiet this place was and the area in general. To be fair Salem thought any graveyard could get that sorta vibe going, but here specificallyâŠyeah. It gave a sort of vibe that had Salem lose track of time even more easily than normal. Rolling his head back as he justâŠbreathed, heâd let out a loose chuckle at the comment of Orionâs origins.
âNative, if it wasnât obviousâŠactually then again...â Tipping their head forward they shrugged. âWho knows. When you black out for thousands of years at a time itâs kind of impossible to tell huh?â He joked a little at his own situation, pushing his rear off the gravestone of his old master, dusting his hands off as he just blindly looked off into the distance.
ââŠIâm hungry. You hungry?â

A curious look came to Orionâs features as Salem spoke. âWould probably be hard to tell,â he agreed with a small shrug back. At the question, however, he fought the urge to and eventually gave in on the âHi Hungry, no Iâm Dadâ comment. A sharp, dry, vaguely pained laugh came and went from Orion. Shaking his head a bit to clear it thereafter, he offered a dry smile. âBut I could eat if yer offering.â
Offering. Actually, he kind of wondered about that. Yellow eyes raised and flickered around to the gravestones again. There were some that were clearly attended to even in this light misty-rain, and there were some with flowers and gifts laid out⊠But there was nothing that actually signified an offering that he knew of back home. Weird⊠Maybe he was just in the wrong patch for it, but⊠Maybe Iâll bring something back for them thenâŠ

Salem shrugged pretty casually again at the possibility he wasnât from this world. Worst case scenario there was another genie or immortal being she used to be friends with that he may never get to see again, but ho hum. Life was what it was, and any friends he had from any world were likely long since dead by now. There were maybe a few immortals running around thanks to his wish granting but he never recalled liking many of his previous masters anyway. Especially the ones who were clever or fearful enough in regards to death to wish for eternal life.
The Dad joke, when caught, got an audible groan. âOh my fucking god. Two things that wonât die. Me and dad jokes. Fucking hellâŠâ Despite a brief groan, and a whine, a chuckle did eventually escape him with a roll of the eyes before he made an effort to get moving. âCome on then, bit of a walk to the nearest fast food jointâŠbut thereâs a quiet cafĂ© not far down the road? They do pretty nice muffins, little sandwhichesâŠsound good?â
Shit he just remembered they did cheesecake. Now he was craving cheesecake...least it wouldn't affect his figure. Dumbass wish.
