The early morning sun was bright, but the air was cool. Shadows of deciduous trees that had yet to regain their leaves coated the floor below. An occasional wind came and went across the deciduous forests that spread out across Silvaria bringing with it the smells of a spring that had yet to come, exactly. It was peaceful, deceptively so.
A subtle crunch of hooves on broken ground echoed through the area as Lucien made his way through the area. It had been a few weeks since he had made the transition from pure human to Centaur, and after getting his footing, he indeed found he preferred it. It gave him more balance and mobility as well as more awareness of the world around him. Though he was still adjusting to his aura sight being so different, it was no longer as blinding as it once was. He had started to learn spells— but that hadn’t been going too well just yet, heh. All and all, he couldn’t complain too much—
If not for the fact that he was still missing Alamea, his precious tiny Lurantis. He had been assured that she might have come into this world in some form or fashion, but how? Who knew. When? Who knew. Still, Lucien had vowed that he would not give up his search until he had exhausted it. He had to keep searching, keep trying, keep doing— for his sake as much as Alamea’s. It was in this way that he had come into Silvaria territory, wandering about and searching with his eyes and his ‘sight’. Still, so focused was he on her specific aura signature that he tended to blind himself to other things.
And that was exactly what caused the beasts of old to show some interest in him. A centaur wandering around alone? Surely, he knew better than that, but surely they could not pass up a snack like this. A particular panther-like creature had started to close the distance between him very slowly— very carefully.

Thankfully for the centaur, that was one of his lucky days. As the Dirlagraun leaped from behind to hopefully have nice bite out of that horse butt, another beast of black fur leaped in between the two.
Yusaku kicked the thing's snout, the action strong enough to have the beast recoil away from both him and Lucien. the beast however was quite angry now that her breakfast had been twarted. It roared loudly, but the Xelike did not waver. In one fluid motion, an arrow was drawn from a belt quiver and trained on the beast. A whirring of little mechanisms and advanced materials, Yusaku's compound bow reached full draw. The arrow, fired as a warning shot, whizzed in the air, before piercing the rocky ground a fair bit. That bow surely had some insene draw strength to impale an arrow in rock that deep.
The black beast slowly backtracked away from the two, before jumping around and disappearing in the think net of leaves and bushes. Obviously smart, it saw no benefit in fighting for that prey.
Yusaku slowly released the tension of a second shot and put the next arrow away. Walking over to the first shot he took. He bent down and began pulling at the arrow to retrieve it from where it landed. After miserably failing and just leaving the thing lodged in there, the wolf turned over to look at the half horse.
"Why hello there." He greeted with a cocky smirk on his snout and a smug pose. A flufly black tail waved happily behind him. "I know. You're welcome. The line for autographs is that way." He joked, pointing at the nearest village. "You'd better get there while you can. Who knows. People around here would kill to met me."

A sudden rush of aura was all Lucien would get before everything started happing. Alarmed, he whipped around to see two black creatures fighting on the ground. Arceus— holy crap what— the rush of an arrow into rock had Lucien’s vision jerking for a moment before fixating on the creature it had been against. Oh- fffff…
At least the creature seemed smart enough to run away after that as well. Lucien’s eyes flashed to the other black creature, however, something more humanoid but clearly very furry. Lips parted and closed a couple of times as Lucien watched the … wolf…. Furry…. Retrieve the arrow. Or trying to? Yeash that looked lodged in there too. Hm….
The sudden acknowledgement earned a rather quick response. “Woah bro, thanks.” Even the cocky smirk and commentary after was taken in stride. From his world, there was someone he liked well enough very similar to this, heh. A small snort escaped from him. “Don’t take this tha wrong way but who are ya?” he tease-asked back turning his head to one side and raising an eyebrow.

Yusaku stored away his weapon and theatrically bowed down. "Yusaku Izumi, monster hunter extraordinaire." He replied, his grin long from fading. "Now, I have seen my fair share of things around here...I'm a special guy myself but man..." He slowly circled the centaur. "I've never seen a monster like you around here."
Literally slapping the half horse's butt like one would do to giddy up an actual horse, Lucien would see the wolf's casual and disinvoluted attempt at hopping on his back just moments prior. "No wonder that girl there wanted a bite off of ya. You do make me wonder how your horse meat here tastes like and I am a sentient Xelyke mind you."

Yusaku… It wasn’t a name Lucien had heard of before. Izumi… however, was a name that he had heard of several times in the past. In his home world, Lucien had met a woman named Izumi in passing. She had been a Pokemon trainer among other Pokemon things and a very fierce persona among personality things. Lucien almost kind of wanted to ask if they were related, but how could they? He was clearly a … a furry, heh.
The thought was put away for now, as the Yusaku before him mentioned what he was. “Hah, monster?” Lucien shook his head a little. “M not a monster, I’m a—“ A sharp gasp escaped from Lucien as his butt was smacked. “Holy shit man…” Four horse legs stomped and stepped a couple of times as Lucien recaptured himself. “If ya wanted a ride ya coulda just asked.” And yet his features had very much flushed, and there was a particular look in his eye now that wasn’t actually up for a horse ride.
The mention of horse meat taste, however, brought him out of that quick enough, though. “Yo, I ain’t into vore,” he huffed a bit. “That shit’s weird.”

Yusaku simply leaned flat on Lucien's back without a care in the world. "You know you ain't half bad at being comfy, mr.Horse. If only you had one less set of legs, some girly girls back in Regnum would love to meet such a stallion."
He pointed towards the village far off in the distance. It was basically a command that told him 'Go there.'
"So, mr.Horse. Do you have a name? Do more of you exist around here or have I stumbled upon a rare beast that's worth a good deal of Florence? Where did you even get those clothes? I doubt with how you look like you can walts into villages unnoticed. Do you need to eat grass stuff like horses do? Or perhaps you also sleep while standing up? Hm. Maybe I should buy you some blinds...actually maybe not. You don't seem to see the glaring black beast trying to eat away at your chubby ass."

Lucien’s eyebrow raised as Yusaku leaned against him. Flicking on his aura sight and focusing in on this person specifically, he started to read just what was in this man before him (or wolf, perhaps was a better modifier). Still, the compliment earned a small snort. “Oh yeah?” he asked. Oh he knew girls liked him. He knew. Very well.
The questions, however, earned a small roll of shoulders and a smaller smile. “Name’s Lucien. Dunno if anyone else’s around here but I’ve seen others. Clothes… eh man ya ever been in Caeluma? Ya can get em pretty easily… and uh….” He shook his head both to try and remember what the next question was and also inadvertently asserting that he didn’t eat grass. All this attention, however, was a little… weird, and that combined with how Yusaku’s aura was moving had brought plenty of red flags of their own up. He snorted all the same at the mention of his chubby ass.
“Wellllllllll…” Lucien shifted fishing something from his saddle bag and throwing it over his neck. A shimmer of purple would briefly be blinding, but what was left was a two legged very much more human individual before Yusaku. The bag that had been across Lucien’s back was now a backpack there. He stood as he had when he first came to the World Tree, a goofy young man who was still enormously tall. “I can slip inta crowds pretty easily.”

"Right. Magicky wibbly wobbly stuff." Yusaku replied, managing to catch himself from falling down without much sweat. "I thought it would work in reverse. I've been in Regnum long enough to see alot of nobles getting those weird magic things that change you into half animals." The Blacktooth sighed, shaking his head and shrugging at the same time. "People just don't get that being a half animal ain't all fun and games. Some guys can't touch silver, others are hunted etc etc."
