Ardura might have been a fairly hot place but Niso didn’t mind so much. This world’s Mia had been kind enough to help him and Sera get established with a small place, even managed to wiggle them a bit of time without rent. Apparently this world had a lot of support for people in their position, what with how many people tended to actually ‘fall’ into this world. (speaking of which thanks to his old world he kept having the habit to call himself a ‘faller’ which was annoying as hell but oh well.)
Either way, with the support he’d head, and having to rely on some of his lesser talents from back in his own world, Niso had managed to get a job as a pianist for a local bar/resteraunt. Kinda depended which time of day it was which of the two it called itself it seemed. It wasn’t the classiest place, but that was good, it meant Niso could play more chaotic and upbeat songs he’d learned since practicing the piano again after meeting Sera, rather than something caaaalm and relaxiiiing and bleeeeeeegh.
Right now he’d just finished a good set and was tipping his head back to address the few consciously listening to the ambient music. “Ooookay guys! Going on my break! If you’ve got any requests just leave them on the Piano for when I get back. Yeah? Okay? Cool!~”
Pushing up from his chair, Niso left open a little book of fake sheetmusic he’d wrote himself. Really none of it made sense as he knew the songs but not how they were written down. All the book was good for was letting a stranger or two see which of the ‘outsider songs’ they wanted him to play. Some titles were even ‘wrong’ and were actually just a common line from the chorus so people could recognize him despite his fake sheet music.
Pulling himself up to a small table, he slid into place just as the waiter brought him his usual juice. It was kinda weird working for a living after stealing a life time’s worth of savings, but ya know it wasn’t so bad. He was playing fun songs, he had an amazing girlfriend to go home to, a…okay he had ‘a Lucien’ lets leave that one at that, but generally life was good. Now and then he got the itch to do something big and dramatic and chaotic, but so long as he was new to this world he wasn’t about to risk angering it if it was bigger than he could handle. He was chaotic, not stupid.
